Title: Sickle behind the Pupil
Description: A 43-year male with apparently normal-looking fundus(Figure 1A). Subsequent screening of the mid-peripheral and peripheral retina on widefield fundus evaluation (Figure 1B) showed the presence of peripheral sea-fan neo-vascularization (indicated by a black circle) with superficial retinal hemorrhage (indicated by a black arrow). Systemic workup confirms the presence of Sickle cell trait(HbAS) confirming the diagnosis of Sickle cell proliferative retinopathy. He is planned for fundus fluorescein angiography followed by a sectoral laser.
